IOS 17 is available now as a free update for iPhone and iPad. Navigate to Settings -> Safari -> Require Face ID to Unlock Private Browsing and turn the toggle off. You only browse in private when you use an Incognito tab. To open private mode, tap and tap Private mode. All browsing data, such as cookies and history, are removed after closing private mode, therefore making it impossible to reopen closed tabs or review browsing history. If you don’t want your private browsing tabs to be protected by Touch ID or Face ID biometrics, you can disable this in the Settings app. You can switch between Incognito tabs and regular Chrome tabs.
